Conmmunity cookery school.

Made In Hackney opened its doors in 2012 as the UK’s first fully vegan community cookery school and charity.

The heartbeat of our organisation is our cookery and food growing classes. These sessions are opportunities to come together, share skills and cultural cuisines, learn new ones, deepen community connection and inspire joyful and lasting behaviour change. The results of these gatherings are beautiful.

Online Cookery Class

Made In Hackney is humbled to have collaborated with hundreds of partners from home cooks and community chefs, to grassroots collectives, festivals, charities, housing associations, schools, public health bodies, small businesses, global brands and even celebrities such as Jamie Oliver and Olivia Colman.

Hackney COVID-19 Support Services

What Are We Delivering?

6 x pre-cooked, nutritious plant-based meals per week for each household member who needs it.

The meals will change daily and will include but not be limited to British, Chinese, Indian, Caribbean, French, West African, Turkish and Moroccan dishes. We understand the importance of culturally appropriate food so when we do our welfare calls we will ask for your dish recommendations and try to work them in to the service.

As meals will arrive in batches they will need to be stored in a refrigerator or freezer.

To ensure high standards of food safety the meal will arrive cold so will need to heat it up before eating.
